Activities:
Trout Fishing
Within a conservation area and surrounded by 30 hectares of private land, Westwood guarantees secluded trout fishing in a spectacular setting.
Currently the three dams are stocked with Rainbows. Catch and release fly-fishing is available using barbless hooks. The Trout Fishing policy and regulations are available at the lodge and/or from the owner…
Mountain Biking
Westwood is located in prime mountain biking country. The nearby Karkloof valley is home to the Karkloof Classic every May and is regularly voted as having the best single forest track in South Africa.
Riding is available from the front door in every direction and includes open farm land, drop-offs over the escarpment, purist forest riding (the estate borders several hundred hectares of Mondi forest with open rider admission) and is also close enough to link to roughly 50km of groomed single track in the Karkloof Valley…
The Midlands Meander
The Karkloof Canopy Tour is a unique eco-experience that takes people on a 3-hr adventure through the magnificent Karkloof indigenous forest. The canopy tour involves traversing from one platform to another along a steel cable suspended up to 30m above the forest floor.
